The fourth annual Woofstock Dog Festival (woofstockdogfestival.com) is kicking off in Roanoke, Va., on June 5, 2010, from 10 a.m. to 5 pm, to do what they do best: celebrate great music and great friendships.
The festival mirrors "Woodstock" by hosting live concerts throughout the day—from rock and pop to bluegrass and country. This year an estimated 3,500 people will attend with their dogs to enjoy the fun contests, games, costumes, and prizes.
Woofstock regular Kathy Purdue will be bringing Andy, her 17-month-old Labrador Retriever mix, to his first Woofstock Dog Festival this year.
"I have attended Woofstock every year," says Purdue, who is excited to bring her best friend to her favorite event. "I think his favorite part will be meeting new friends. We are really looking forward to it."
